We always need surgeons, anesthetists, ICU and emergency doctors to work in private surgical hospitals.
We recommend doctors take these RMO jobs as they are an “easy” introduction to the UK and the fastest way of getting a job in the UK.
You work week 1 or 2 weeks on and 1 week off, the contract is for 6 months, is well paid and accommodation is provided. In the weeks you are not working, you can return to your home country or find locum work.
You can get interviewed far faster as this will be before obtaining GMC registration.
Only RMO companies will interview you prior to obtaining GMC; very few NHS hospital clients will interview you without GMC.
In the six months you are here in the UK on an RMO contract, we then help doctors get the job that they are really looking for in their specialism.
We bring over many overseas doctors in this way who use RMO work as a means of starting in the UK and then getting them NHS hospital jobs.
Please note that it is far easier to get a job in the UK if you are here already and also if you can provide UK references and have experience of working in the UK.
To summarise: view the six months working as an RMO as investment/training in understanding more about the UK and as a step you should take to get the job you really want.
