Position Summary:
Pact seeks a Financial Assistant/Accountant to work in its newly opened Vilnius office. Financial Assistant/Accountant is responsible for managing of financial operations of the Vilnius office, under close supervision of the project head.
The successful candidate will be responsible for: Managing of financial operations of the Vilnius office, ensuring compliance with Pact and donors’ regulations and Lithuanian legislation. Fluency in Lithuanian, Russian and English are among most important specific requirements as well as proficiency in Lithuanian and international accounting.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The Financial Assistant/Accountant must demonstrate strong financial skills and a spirit of responsibility, adaptability and collaboration under challenging conditions. Specific responsibilities may include:
- Handle accounting through QuickBooks accounting program due to Pact policy
- Conduct Bank operations on daily basis and process vouchers for all bank transactions due to Pact policy & Lithuanian legislation
- Manage petty cash payments and prepare cash management report
- Control & calculation of travel advances due to Pact policy & Lithuanian legislation
- Carry out employees payroll, sick leave control and processing due to Pact policy & Lithuanian legislation
- Ensure civil and individual contract control and processing
- Prepare monthly reconciliation summary report
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Perform all work safely while maintaining a safe working environment for staff.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, or related field required, Certification preferable;
- Work experience with an international organization preferred;
- Knowledge of Lithuanian and international accounting standards;
- Knowledge of Lithuanian tax, financial and labor laws;
- Excellent computer skills are required, including database, spreadsheets, accounting software (QuickBooks, Sun System, ACCPAC) and word processing;
- Fluent Lithuanian, English and Russian language skills, both written and spoken;
